We all remember the enchanting look of Harley Quinn. The bold yet grotesquely drenched Enchantress and the almost realistic Killer Crock in the movie Suicide Squad from 2016. DC never depicted their characters like they did in Suicide Squad before. Colorful having a comic touch yet realistic and rusty. The Team Makeup and Hair Stylist even won an Academy Award in 2017 for their excellent performance, making DC Extended Universe win their first Oscar.

As Alessandro Bertolazzi, Giorgio Gregorini, and Christopher Nelson received the award from the Grand stage, they also printed a benchmark behind their success in the Cinema world for their level of excellence. It’s been almost five years of their glory, and now DC Extended Universe released their second Suicide Squad on 28th July 2021.

1. In The Suicide Squad, the central characters are depicted in a darker shade, unlike the 2016 movie which stressed mostly on Joker and Harley’s love life. The new movie deals with psychological aspects of them too.
2. In the new movie, you will see some new characters developed within the script. More superpowers to witness and little space to compare.
3. The Suicide Squad will give you an enhanced version of the 2016 movie. Bigger Villains, Bigger arenas, and vast characters to stick around.
4. The new movie has more Action, more Drama and Humour.

1. Introduction to new characters has given a new tint to the movie. It is more bright and laid front.
2. The visual crew has changed too, new cinematographer (Henry Braham) as well as new editors (Fred Raskin, Christian Wagner), unlike the old mystic and shady version, you will witness a bit of brightness in the visuals.
3. The new movie does not have the old traditional DC elements. It gives you more of a newer perspective on Harley and Joker. Harley is more funny and unpredictable now.
4. The movie is pure science fiction so expect it to be more weapon-centric.

The New makeup and hair Crew is a Versatile group of artists who have worked with several former Awards contenders. With more new faces and different backgrounds, they have succeeded to portray the funkiness and madness required in DC Universe.

The 2016 Suicide Squad earned the award for make-up and hair for different reasons. It is very difficult to judge when competitors are some of the best in their work so leaving everything aside, after watching the movie it appears, they did a great job.  The new team promisingly kept the Academy lineage,(which means), the “The Suicide Squad” successfully retained their make-up and hair standard.

Talking about the look of Harley they kept it original and traditional. You won’t see anything fancy or new done to the gorgeous character apart from some tweaking in hair color and thank you for that. With a GTA kind of setup, having various characters together in a scene. A variety of costumes and Hairstyles create a new impact in team superhero movies, but like always Harley takes the attention.

She started her professional career in 1990 by contributing as a second hairstylist in  Madhouse. In 2007 she debuted as the Head of Hairstyle dept in Premonition directed by Mennan Yapo.

Some of her upcoming movies are Bullet Train and the Lost City of D.

She recently worked with The Suicide Squad as the Head in the Hairstyle department.

The movie looks great and has shown us the perfection and precision of makeup in the cinema industry. The process of nomination and award is a different story. Sometimes it is an accumulation of achievements by individuals in the team and sometimes it’s all about pure teamwork.
