Isabela Merced Complete Biography
Born on July 10, 2001, Isabel is an American actress and singer famous for her child and teen performances in the Nickelodeon television series, ‘100 Things to Do Before High School‘, Dora and Friends: Into the City!, and the Lost City of Gold. Nevertheless, she has also performed more adult roles in Transformers: The Last Knight as Izabella and Isabel in Sicario: Day of the Soldado.
Early Life
Merced was born and brought up in Cleveland, Ohio. She is the middle child of mother Katherine and father Patrick Moner. The mother comes from Peru and Dad from Louisiana. The name of the older brother is Jared and a younger brother Giovanni.
Merced has declared that Spanish was her primary language, and she coped with English when she first began grade school, adding that she counts herself as more Peruvian than American. At age 15, she was admitted into college.
Early Career
Merced has stated that she desired to be an actress from a very tender age, motivated by movies featuring Shirley Temple and Judy Garland and beginning in local town theatre at age 6. Merced made her Broadway première at the age of 10 in the creation of Evita, in which she sang in Spanish with Ricky Martin. In September 2015, She published an album produced by Broadway Records named Stopping Time.
Professional career
After acting as a child actor in many Popular movies, In 2018, Merced had a significant role in Sicario: Day of the Soldado, performing as the daughter of a drug mafia head, and performed Lizzy, the adopted girl of the characters played by Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne, in the drama film Instant Family, for which she also penned and sang the song “I’ll Stay”.
In 2019, Merced performed as the central role in Dora and the Lost City of Gold, a live-action film adoption of the animated series, and was called in the Christmas comedy ensemble film ‘Let It Snow’. The same year, she was cast with Jason Momoa in the forthcoming film Sweet Girl for Netflix.
On October 14, 2019, Merced declared to her fans via a post on her Instagram story that she had resolved to change her stage title to Isabela Merced, in remembrance of her late grandmother.
Her first single, “Papi”, was published on October 25, 2019, followed by her first music video released on November 6, 2019. On May 22, 2020, Merced delivered her debut EP, The Better Half of Me; and in July 2020 her song was labeled as one of Billboard’s top 15 new Peruvian artists to listen to.
